There are so many old wives tales helping you guess the sex of your unborn baby. Before we find out the sex of our baby, I will share with you some of the old wives tales and make a guess as to what I am having!
Old Wives tale #1. If you are carrying high, the baby is a girl. If you are carrying low, the baby is a boy. I am carrying low. According to this old wives tale, baby is a BOY. (I carried low with both Bunny and Baby Sister, who are both girls.)
Old Wives tale #2. If your baby’s heartbeat is above 140 beats per minute, you are having a girl. If the heartbeat is under 140 beats per minute, you are having a boy. I have not really checked nor have my providers. We know there is a heart beat! Inconclusive.
Old Wives tale #3. Acne. A lovely side effect of pregnancy. But only if you are having a girl! If your skin is flawless, you are having a boy. My skin is NOT flawless right now, therefore I am having a GIRL. I will say with my other two pregnancies my acne was on my face, this pregnancy the acne is on my chest.
Old Wives tale #4. If you are very nauseated, you must be having a girl. If you feel great, this means you are having a boy! I feel nauseated on and off, it has not gone away completely. BOY!
Old Wives tale #5. Are you carrying all in front, or all over? All in front means you are having a boy, all over means you are having a girl. I am carrying all in front, I must be having a BOY. (I carried Bunny and Baby Sister all in front as well.)
Old Wives tale #6. Are your feet colder or warmer with this pregnancy? If they are warmer, you are having a girl, if they are colder, you are having a boy. My feet are definitely colder, I must be having a BOY. (This could be because we moved to a colder state though!)
Old Wives tale #7. Cravings. If you are craving more meat and cheese, the baby is a boy, if you are craving fruit, the baby is a girl. I am craving meat. BOY.
Old Wives tale #8. Has your nose grown at all?! If your nose has grown during this pregnancy, you are having a boy! If your nose is the same as before you got pregnant, you are having a girl! I have not noticed a change in my nose, this means I am having a GIRL.
Old Wives tale #9. If you are graceful during your pregnancy, you are having a girl. If you are clumsy, you are having a boy. I am neither graceful nor am I clumsy. I would not say my grace or clumsiness has changed. GIRL.
Old Wives tale #10. If you prefer to lay on your left side, you are having a boy. If you prefer to lay on your right side, you are having a girl. I am preferring my left side recently, I must be having a BOY.
Old Wives tale #11. If your urine is bright yellow, you are having a boy. If your urine is dull, you are having a girl. My urine goes between clear and light yellow. I tend to stay hydrated. Inconclusive.
Old Wives tale #12. If you have more headaches during pregnancy, you are having a boy. No head aches. GIRL.
Old Wives tale #13. If your skin is dry, you are having a boy, if your skin is not dry then you are having a girl. My skin is soft, I must be having a GIRL.
Old Wives tale #14. Is your hair thinner and duller with this pregnancy? If so, you are having a girl. If your hair is soft, silky and full, you are having a boy. My hair has not changed at all. Inconclusive.
Old Wives tale #15. Does your belly look more like a watermelon or a basketball? If your belly looks like a basketball, you are having a boy. If your belly looks like a watermelon, you are having a girl! I currently look like a basketball, this means I am having a BOY!
Old Wives tale #16. What does the mother think she is having? A study showed that mothers are over 70% accurate when guessing the gender of their baby! I have no guesses! I do not feel one way or the other! No dreams either.
Old Wives tale #17. When thinking about baby names, do you only have a specific boy name or girl name in mind? The gender you have a name for is what you are having. I have only girls name in my mind, must be a GIRL.
Old Wives tale #18. Has your spouse gained weight along side you? If so, baby is a girl! If not, baby is a boy. My Love has not gained any weight, this baby must be a BOY.
Old Wives tale #19. Are you extra moody? If so, you are having a girl. If not, you are having a boy. I am not extra moody. BOY!

According to all these old wives tales, I am having a BOY! We will find out soon if this is accurate! Either way, it is fun to guess 🙂
