BabyFest 2018 Portland’s Biggest Baby Shower!

It’s that time of year again, BabyFest time! Last year at BabyFest I was 39 weeks pregnant. BabyFest was on a Saturday my baby was born on the following Tuesday. You can read about last year’s BabyFest here, and my birth here.

This year’s BabyFest is Saturday April 28, 2018 at the Oregon Convention Center. The show is bigger this year than it was last year! Last year was pretty neat. (Read about my experience last year here.) There were so many vendors, so many activities. My kiddos did not get to do everything they wanted to. We were there from 10 am until 4:30 pm and had a blast!

This year there are a few different options for entry. The Advanced general admission is $20 a person or $30 per couple. This gets you in at 11 am, gives you a baby shower bingo card and access to the big shower, seminars, samples and shopping. There is no gift bag with this ticket. The Super pass is $50 a person or $60 a couple. This gets you in at 10:30, preferred seating at the big shower, premium gift bag (1 per couple) and everything else included in the advanced general admission. The Premium pass is $80 per person or $90 per couple. You gain entry at 10 am, receive a super premium gift bag (1 per couple) and everything else the super pass gives you. You can purchase your BabyFest tickets here. Don’t wait, they will sell out!

This year’s BabyFest looks like it will be just as much fun as last year! The keynote speaker is Moorea Malett of Savvy Parenting Support. She has 2 workshops this year, The Are & Science of Breastfeeding & Sleep, and Savvy Gentle Discipline. There will also be a Baby wearing Fashion show by Baby wearing International Portland chapter and a Cloth Diaper Class with Jen Aprea of Spray-Pal.

The Children’s Village is what my kiddos are looking forward to this year! There are activities, crafts, entertainment  and a music show! This is great for babies, toddler and preschoolers. My 10 month old, 3 year old and 5 year old are bound to have a blast. Kid admission is always free! Grab the Grandma or teenage relative, have them come and explore with the little ones while you explore the rest! Or, take a break with the little ones and enjoy everything the Children’s Village has to offer!

There is a Daddy Zone which includes the Daddy’s Baby Shower. Last year I caught a few minutes of the Daddy’s Baby Shower. They were having fun, a lot of laughter and smiles.

Do expect to spend all day at BabyFest. There are over 150 exhibitors. Some are local companies, doulas, photographers, mom groups and some are national companies. There is something for everyone! Pack snacks and lots of water. Last year there were water bottle refill stations, which was wonderful. The food selection was not large and the lines were long. Pack healthy snacks and plan to get in line for lunch before you are starving. There is nothing worse than a hungry pregnant or nursing mama!

You can enter to win a couples pair of advanced general admission tickets! There will be 10 couples who win! You can also purchase your  tickets online today! Use promo Code PDX Parent to receive $5 off a ticket!
