Winter is here! That means rain, snow, cold and kids underfoot. To help combat the cabin fever, here are 11 activities to enjoy with your whole family. I have a 15 year old, (almost) 5 year old, 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. These activities are geared towards these ages.
Enjoy the snow! I know, you’d have to go outside, but you can watch it fall from the inside! Snuggle up on the couch and watch the snowflakes fall!
If you do not have snow, make some paper snow flakes! Children of all ages enjoy this, especially adults! Decorate the window with snow.
Watch the rain fall. We LOVE listening to the storms. Watching the flash of lightning, counting until we hear the thunder.
Cozy up with your favorite childhood book. Have your children pick out theirs and go on a journey with your imagination.
Make home made s’mores in front of the fire place. No fireplace? No problem! You can easily cook s’mores in the microwave. Pro tip, place a small cup of water inside the microwave to keep the marshmallow from exploding.
Grab some board games and cards and have a game night! From go fish to jenga, there are games for every age!
Make a dessert. Have everyone help make the treat and enjoy the deliciousness with everyone!
Make a ball pit! All of my children (and my cats) enjoy our ball pit!
Make some hot chocolate. Spice it up with marshmallows, peppermint sticks, whipped cream, candy.
Built a fort. Use pillows, blankets, chairs, anything! Once its built you can snuggle in and take a nap. (If only!)
Get crafty! Make something sparkly. Use stickers, paint, glitter glue, googlie eyes. Draw, color, paint. Unleash your imagination!
